Photographs by Lyn Farmer capturing light in the City of Light - evocative imagery of Paris
Light in the City of Lights
What more can one say beyond the single word "Paris"? Sure, poets, songwriters and novelists have all tried to capture the city's mystique in words, wine lovers have brought their pallets to bear and painters have spoken with a different palette, and we photographers make an effort to capture the essence of the City of Light, but in the end, you just go, soak it up and have these little trinkets of memory to remind you that Paris is...well what more can one say?
James Beard Award-winning Writer, Educator, Presenter, Photographer and Sampler-of-Good-Things Lyn Farmer savors experiences and shares thoughts on living life more fully by engaging all our senses all the time. @sommjournal staged a Somm Summit at @mdc.culinary today (and it continues tomorrow) with a technical and engaging series of seminars and an awesome lunch curated by @tin.tin.miami chef Victor Santos with wines from Rollin Soles Oregon Winery RoCo. Awesome pairing, a celebration wonderful about a glass of wine. Can’t wait for tomorrow’s sessions.
Multi tasking — while I’m at @thebargables cheering on @arsenal my Cameroonian chicken is peacefully marinating. Big match and spicy dinner ahead! #COYG
The fascinating French-born Napa winemaker Julien Fayard is my guest on the latest episode of the Postcards in a Glass podcast. We talk about what Napa learned (and safely ignored) from Bordeaux, the importance of tension in wine and how Julien makes “wines from California terroir with French finesse.” Available at Apple Podcasts, Spotify or wherever you find your podcasts. Cheers!
It’s a good night that ends with fresh apple crisp and homemade salted caramel swirl ice cream. Apples warm the coldest night.
Riesling by candlelight on a cold winter night - a grape, a wine born in a cool climate warms the heart. @dr.loosen
Cold weather - I’ll take onion soup and Beaujolais. Classics at @lebouchondugrove
